From Hawaiian “wiki wiki” meaning quick and easy. A popular document markup designed for ease of use. Note that wiki markup varies greatly by implementation.


Cooperative Web sites which are editable by the user rather than conventional sites which can only be changed by the Webmaster. A wiki is a shared information space which can be changed by any user not just the owner. A classic example is Wikipedia.


Online collaboration model and tool that allows any user to edit some content of webpages through a simple browser.

Online content repositories that users can freely modify - expand, change, link, or delete entries.
A wiki is a website that anyone can contribute to, though these contributions are typically moderated by an editor. It also refers to the software used to create these pages. Wikis are used in the National Project to collaboratively develop a body of international case studies. The largest wiki in the world is the open-source encyclopedia Wikipedia.
